Judith Leibowitz Scholarship Application

Criteria to apply:

  • Identify as Black, Indigenous, Asian, Pacific Islander, or a Person of Color 

  • Plan to become an AmSAT-certified teacher of the Alexander Technique

  • Agree to meet AmSAT training course requirements to train for a minimum of 3 years and 1600 hours and to satisfy the requirements of your selected training course

  • Be in the process of applying, accepted by, or currently enrolled in an AmSAT-approved training course at the time of application for the JLS

To apply:

  • Complete the scholarship application below.

  • Submit a letter of recommendation from an Alexander Technique teacher with whom you have had classes or lessons. The person recommending you should email the letter directly to: jleibowitzscholarship@amsatonline.org 

  • Submit a letter from the training course director(s) confirming that you are in the process of applying, accepted by, or currently enrolled in an AmSAT-approved training course at the time of application. The course director should email the letter directly to: jleibowitzscholarship@amsatonline.org 

Completed application and letters are due by April 30, 2026.

Please note you will not be able to save your work on the application. We encourage you to type your responses in a separate document then copy and paste them into the application itself.
