Jae Guzman

Jae (She/They) is a New York City based performance artist and writer, trained in acting at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. She first began her training for the Alexander Technique in Philadelphia under Martha Fertman, and is currently a third-year trainee at the Balance Arts Center. At the moment she is working on developing her own theatre company that will focus on original works from BIPOC and Queer artists. Jae is committed to facilitating a safe and accessible space for artists to explore their bodies through storytelling. She is also driven to empower her community through performance art and the Alexander Technique, as well as making this work accessible to BIPOC and Queer communities. She believes that through this work we can be liberated in how we use our minds and bodies, and that taking up space and remaining grounded is not only a right but a necessary act of rebellion.
