Our bones aren't fixed: The dynamic relationship between the sternum and the sacrum
We'll explore how the dynamic relationship between the sternum and sacrum enhances torso expansion and supports primary control.
I find that when the sternum and the sacrum relate dynamically with each other, the torso gains greater potential for expansion. In this workshop, we will examine this relationship and how it can support and inform our primary control.
We will explore various movement possibilities centered around these two major bones of the torso. Using the tensegrity model, we will practice creating "good tension"—also known as antagonistic pulls—between these structures to foster better internal support.
Please be prepared to walk around your own space and have a spot available (and a couple of books ready) for a lie down during the session.
